Great recipes & garden & crazy adventure!

And the first big pull is…..

Here I was complaining about my lack of decent garlic.  And yet I pulled 55 decent heads out of the ground.

Worry worry worry right?  Don’t we all do that?!

And my inlaws finally came, so I thought that would be a good occasion to pull the first batch of peas and potatoes….

I do believe most of the potatoes are Russian banana fingerlings.  The garlic is a stiff neck Spanish Rioja.

I know the potatoes are a little early, but these are all the volunteer ones from last year that I transplanted and I still have four big bunches going strong.

Finally we are having some hot (for here) weather, and everything is going strong.   Two weeks in a row with temps in the 70′s and 80′s wahoo!! Summer is up on us and the humming birds are back, sipping the necter out of my bee balm.  The honey bees are loving the flowering thyme and salvia, and the children are enjoying the sugar snap peas that I planted along the garden fence as snack food.

My cherry tomatoes are looking strong, and I might actually have some peppers this year??

So I am a happy camper.  Shorts are on….sunglasses are out;)

viva la summer!

  1. Wow, what a great harvest! I haven’t tried to grow potatoes, but my husband wants to next year. Your blog looks so fun, I will have to check it out.
